What Cohort 1 learners say
Real voices from the pioneer Foundations class in Freetown, with verified names and the concrete outcomes they walked away with.
“Before Teki-SL, I thought tech careers were only for people abroad. During our 8-week Foundations training in Freetown, Mr. Ibrahim showed us how global remote work actually operates. I went from being scared of the terminal to deploying my first live project.”
“What makes Teki-SL different is that you don’t just watch videos. Every single week, Dyphan and Ibrahim reviewed our code. They taught us how to communicate clearly on Slack, how to write clean commits on GitHub, and how to carry ourselves like global engineers.”
“I started the Foundations track with zero Excel knowledge. By week 6, I was writing scripts to structure real Freetown datasets and creating interactive dashboards. The mentorship here pushed me beyond what I thought was possible.”
“Learning tech infrastructure right here from Sierra Leone seemed intimidating at first. But the Teki-SL Foundations environment let me practice real Linux terminal commands and deploy servers straight from my browser.”
“The AI productivity tools and communication frameworks taught in Cohort 1 completely transformed how I present my work. We learned how to use modern tech tools ethically for structuring projects with clarity for international clients.”
“Teki-SL gave us real project briefs instead of theoretical exercises. I learned how to turn client requirements in Freetown into modern Figma UI prototypes and responsive layouts that compete on a global standard.”
Frequently asked questions
Is the Professional Foundations Program mandatory?
Yes. It is the required 8-week foundation that prepares learners for specialization, teamwork, professional communication, and portfolio-based learning.
Will learners submit work inside the platform?
Yes. Core weekly missions and the final portfolio capstone are native platform assignments, so AI and instructors can review the actual work.
How does grading work?
Learners see rubrics before submitting. AI gives structured first feedback where appropriate, and instructors can review, override, return, or confirm grades.
What does a learner produce by the end?
A learner leaves with a professional evidence pack: mission statement, PICS reflection, problem/research work, team evidence, pitch/prototype summary, LinkedIn/resume readiness, and a final portfolio reflection.
